Mayhaps. Who ever knows for certain--especially on Smallville--but nonetheless we now know the name and alias of the mystery man supposedly destined to sweep our favorite blond off her oh-so-sensible feet. Unfortunately for all Chlollie fans, it is not Oliver Queen after all. Sorry. (I feel your pain!) You may still recognize our new hero, however. During her interview with EW, executive producer Kelly Souders teased that this character might appear "familiar" and now we know why.
Remember episode 18 of season seven? Titled "Apocalypse"? This episode explored the lives of our characters as they might have been if Kal-El never arrived on earth. Notably, alternate Chloe came with one fiance portrayed by Carlo Marks. Am I ringing any bells? If not, brush off those dvds and take a look again because this guy just might be staying a while.
If you believe EW, Carlo Marks rejoins the Smallville cast as Chloe's new love interest early next year, taking on the role of Steven Swift, alias Warrior Angel. His first appearance comes hand-in-hand with the return of Zatanna (Serinda Swan) and the introduction of the 'Metropolis Wonder-Con' in an episode conveniently titled "Warrior."
BTW: Anyone else wondering that Supernatural just aired a rather meta episode featuring a fan convention while Smallville also plans one centering on a meta-friendly comic-con? Coincidental? Or maybe these CW writers are sharing a few too many ideas around the water cooler?
Looking forward to the future though, I warn you now: CHANGE THOSE DATES! You heard me. The Justice League-centric 'movie' just moved. Instead of airing on January 29 as previously announced, the powers that be are changing the date to February 5, 2010.
While this may mean waiting one week longer for the fabled event, hopes remain high. So high, in fact, that The CW ditched the originally separate titles--"Society" and "Legends"--and adopted a singularly fabulous replacement: "Smallville: Absolute Justice". Moreoever, word on the street says rather than simply airing two episodes back-to-back, the two-hour event will air seamlessly and feature only one set of credits. A true movie after all!
So remember: February 5. The Justice League cometh!
Zod reigns on Smallville tonight, and chaos lurks in every corner no longer waiting to pounce. Then again, it's all just occurring in a vision so we won't have anything to worry about yet.
"Pandora" depicts a fiery future as Lois (Erica Durance) remembers it. Having disappeared for weeks, she returns to reveal the mystery. Tess (Cassidy Freeman) kidnaps her to find out just what happened to her, but hearing that type of news isn't quite what she expected.
Lois remembers what's to come, a terrifying picture of Zod's (Callum Blue) rule. Metropolis kneels before the villain as their hero is powerless under the red sun. Clark (Tom Welling) can no longer do anything else to save them and they have no other choice but to bow down to a tyrant.
Still, there's hope for the city when Chloe (Allison Mack) and Oliver (Justin Hartley) form a resistance group. The two of them gather their own followers and work underground, hoping to topple the regime at last. But it looks as though their efforts will never be enough to keep the people out of harm's way.
Believing that prevention would be the best option, Clark thinks of a way to stop those expectations from being fulfilled. His present self can't stand the idea of Metropolis being under Zod's iron fist, so he makes an important decision. The perfect time has come to defeat him, but will he prevail?
You can watch the scorching trailer of "Pandora" below. Things seem excruciatingly hopeless with Zod as leader - from everyone submitting to his whims to Clark being dragged on the cement. There's also a bit of Clois action on the clip, as many fans noticed (and became ecstatic at).
No longer will Smallville be burdened with two-part episodes known as "Society" and "Legends," because the powers that be have granted them an entire movie. This season, the hit CW series will be thrilling the fans with the two-hour special now known as Smallville: Absolute Justice.
According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the network decided to scrap their plans of leaving the viewers hanging with the separate installments. The title of the upcoming TV film has just been released, along with the excited emotions of Smallville die-hards.
It was reported earlier that the Justice Society-themed episodes have made it as a movie event for the network. Now, everything looks good to go except for the schedule. Smallville: Absolute Justice was supposedly airing on January 29, but the date has been changed to the 5th of February.
There's definitely a lot to be giddy about, in addition to the return of your regular cast. This TV movie marks the debut of several guest stars on the show, from Michael Shanks as Hawkman to Brent Stait as Dr. Fate.
Geoff Johns penned the episodes "Society" and "Legends" originally, and combining these two will surely be a treat for both fans and the CW execs. Ausiello has also reported that Smallville: Absolute Justice will be having just one set of credits. Why that still needs mentioning, we're not really sure. The point is that there's going to be a Smallville movie, and that it has a cool title.
The array of guest stars also includes Britt Irvin as Stargirl and Phil Morris as Martian Manhunter, but there might just be more to come. We mentioned before that the veteran actress Pam Grier's going to make an appearance, so this is one event you can't miss. She's going to play the villainous Amanda Waller, for crying out loud.
Again, mark your calendars for Smallville: Absolute Justice as it airs on February 5 next year on the CW.

Smallville is an American television series developed by writers/producers Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, based on the DC Comics character Superman created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. The television series was initially broadcast by The WB, premiering on October 16, 2001.[1] After its fifth season, The WB and UPN merged to form The CW, which is the current broadcaster for the show in the United States.[2] Smallville began its ninth season on September 25, 2009.[3] The series follows the adventures of Clark Kent (Tom Welling), who resides in the fictional town of Smallville, Kansas, during the years before he becomes Superman. The first four seasons focused on Clark and his friends' high school years. The concept for Smallville was derived after a potential series chronicling a young Bruce Wayne's journey toward becoming Batman failed to get off the ground. After meeting with the president of Warner Bros. Television, Gough and Millar pitched their "no tights, no flights" rule, which would break Superman down to the bare essentials and look at the events that led Clark Kent to become Superman. After seven seasons with the show, series developers Gough and Millar departed without providing a specific reason. Smallville is predominantly filmed in and around Vancouver, with some of the local businesses and buildings substituting for Smallville locations. The music is primarily composed by Mark Snow, who incorporates elements of John Williams's musical score from the original Superman film series. The song played under the opening titles is "Save Me" by Remy Zero; several episodes also contain songs written and performed by other bands.
The series received generally positive reception when it began broadcasting. Former Superman star Christopher Reeve voiced his approval of the series, and the pilot episode broke the record for highest rated debut for The WB, with 8.4 million viewers.[4] With eight seasons completed, Smallville has averaged approximately 4.76 million viewers per episode, with season two averaging the highest ratings at 6.3 million. Since its first season, the series has earned distinctions ranging from Emmy Awards to Teen Choice Awards. Smallville has inspired an Aquaman pilot, which was ultimately not picked up by The CW network, as well as promotional tie-ins with Verizon, Sprint, Toyota, and Stride. In other media, the show has spawned a series of young-adult novels, a DC Comics bi-monthly comic book and soundtrack releases, as well as Smallville-related merchandise. Currently, eight seasons of Smallville are available on DVD in regions 1, 2, and 4.
